UC2: CRITICAL MARITIME DECISION SUPPORT ENHANCES BY DISTRIBUTED AI-ENHANCED EDGE AND CLOUD SOLUTIONS
NAVTOR is a combined technology and navigational information provider to the global shipping industry providing vessels and related shore-based support team with a digital Ship-Shore-Ship platform and related mandatory digital information for safe and efficient sailing. In the Maritime Use case the overall objective is to establish enhanced maritime monitoring and decision support by distributed, AI enhanced edge and cloud solutions. NAVTOR will move from an onboard focused architecture to the TRANSACT’s distributed device-edge-cloud architecture, adapted to this use case. This architecture will enable cloud-based computing solutions for near real-time monitoring and decision support related to safe and efficient navigation. Utilizing the increased digital information coming from connected vessels is a main business driver in the maritime industry. The TRANSACT project will introduce a new, innovative way of utilizing this information for the best of European shipping industry and European maritime technology companies and service providers.
